LadyKats Soccer wins another in Boerne

The Kennedale LadyKats Soccer (8-0) has won their second tournament in as many weeks, taking first this weekend in the Boerne Hill Country Shoot-Out in Boerne, Texas, going 4-0. {{more}}
 
first a 1-0 win over Mansfield …
 
Before heading south, the LadyKats won a 1-0 game with 6A Mansfield on Tuesday of last week. In that game, Abby Olmos (Sr) scored the one and only goal with an assist by Allie Thornton (Sr). Kennedale goalie Sara Calzada (Jr) had 6 saves for the game. Abby Olmos was selected MaxPrep Player of the Game for Kennedale.
 
Then on Thursday, in a replay of previous week, the LadyKats started the tournament playing a team that they had played last year in the state playoffs. Last week, it was Princeton who the Kats defeated in the state finals. This week it was the Boerne Lady Greyhounds who the Kats had defeated in the state semifinals last year.

The results were the same, Kennedale prevailed again. On Thursday, Boerne, ranked #1 in Region 4A, was unable to score while the Kats scored two goals in the 1st half and another in the second to win 3-0. For the game Allie Thornton (Sr) scored 1 goal and had 1 assist, Baylee Gow (Jr) 1 goal and 1 assist and Cara Hunt (Jr) 1 goal. Abby Olmos had 1 assist. Sara Calzada (Jr) goalie recorded 5 saves with 1 successful penalty kick save. Baylee Gow was selected the MaxPreps Player of the Game for Kennedale.
 
On Friday at The Kats then played 6A Marshall in tournament play, winning 4-1 on goals by Mikayla Harris, Lauren Otts (Sr), Allie Thornton and Abby Olmos. Assists were recorded by Tori McLean (So), Allie Thornton, Abby Olmos and Baylee Gow. Lauren Otts was selected the MaxPreps Player of the Game for Kennedale.
 
Friday evening, Kennedale play San Antonio Christian with a shutout 3-0 over the Lady Lions. Scoring goals for the LadyKats were Lauren Otts, Allie Thornton and Abby Olmos. Providing assist were Alondra Olmos (Jr) with 2 and Eryka Mcintrye 1. Lauren Otts was credited with 3 saves. Alondra Olmos was selected as the MaxPreps Player of the Game for the Ladykats.
 
7th shutout of the season …
 
In the finals, the LadyKats played 6A San Antonio Stevens, coming away with their third shut-out of the tournament and their 7th of the season with a 4-0 win over the Falcons. Scoring for the Kats with 1 goal each were Alondra Olmos, Megan Jakubisin (So), Taylor Fox (Jr) and Eryka Mcintrye. Assists were made by Mcintrye and Emmy Hamilton (Jr). Eryka Mcintrye was selected the MaxPreps Player of the Game.
 
The Kats will travel to 5A Midlothian Tuesday night to play a non-district game starting at 7 p.m.
