Lady Kats Volleyball lays claim to district title

Before the Wildcats had even begun their pre-game rituals, the Lady Kats were tacking up their 2nd win over the Godley Wildcats and an almost certain district title on their wall of victories.
Last year?s co-champs in the District 7-4A faced off Friday in a 4:30 pm match for the second time this season. Last year, the two teams had split victories while sweeping the rest of the district. Earlier this month Kennedale, on the road, beat Godley in a hard fought match 3-1.
This time, it was on Kennedale?s home court and the Lady Kats swept Godley in 3: 14-25, 19-25, 24-26. #10 Kennedale improved their record to 26-13, 6-0 and #15 Godley dropped to 25-11, 4-2 (Rankings based on TGCA).
The Lady Kats have three district games left. Tuesday night they will travel to Venus (4-15, 0-6) to play a 6 p.m.
Friday night at home, they will face Alvarado (18-14, 4-3) in a 4:30 p.m. and the last best challenge to Kennedale’s drive to an undefeated district record.
The regular season comes to a close on Tuesday, October 27 against Diamond Hill-Jarvis (6-13, 1-6) at 6 p.m.
