This is a young team but they have history to back them up. Last year the Kats ended the season at 25-18 overall and 11-1 in district play, winning a district co-championship, a bi-district title and becoming an area qualifier in the process. The Wildcat program has gotten use to success. They have won or shared three consecutive district titles and have made into the playoffs 10 straight years. But this team is young and they have some big shoes to fill.
Gone are five who graduated last year – Jodi Dixon, Jasmine Alli, Emma Riffe, Bethany Klinkenburg and Katie Miller. Gone also is Raeley Crosley (Sr) who is sitting this year out. All were all-district players and played a part in Kennedale’s three year title run. But, not all is lost.

The team does return some key players from last year, including senior Noah Dixon, junior Grace Guadagnolo and sophomore Lilly Rychlik. These three were also all-district players and represent a big source of leadership for the team.The words used to describe the new version of the Lady Kats are talented, emotional, exciting to watch and coachable. Kennedale Junior High School has been developing some serious players in the last several year. This year will be a real test for program.tough early schedule …As usual the Lady Kats have a rough pre-district schedule. This is in keeping with the overall Kennedale Wildcat philosophy that the tougher your schedule the better prepared you are for the playoffs.The Lady Kats will play in three tournaments (Nike ASC Denton Ryan, Northwest and Argyle). In between, besides 4A Lorena, they will be playing 5A Manfield Timberview, 6A Mansfield, 5A Burleson, 4A Midlothian Heritage, 3A Grandview and 4A Decatur. They will be at home only three times before district play starts.
District play will start on September 12 at home against Benbrook. Parents Night is scheduled for October 20 and Senior Night follows on October 24. That will end regular season play and the playoffs will begin the following week. 2017
