  • Tuesday night, the Kats defeated Springtown 8-0, moving their record to 6-1 in district play and 11-6-3 overall. Both Diamond Hill (11-5-2l) and Kennedale have identical district records at 6-1 but the points awarded for ties gives the Kats a 2 point differential and the lead. Castleberry is in third place with 5-2-0 record and a 14-4-1 overall.?
  • It was Senior Night at Wildcat Stadium Tuesday with the team honoring 10 seniors who either are players or student trainers. Fitting for the night, all 8 goals were scored by the senior class with 2 each by Megan Jakubisin, Mary Grace Howard and Daphne Hunt and the other two points by Marisa Echtle and Bailey Crowley. Goalkeeper and senior Raeley Crosley had the shutout. (Kennedale has had 13 this season.)?
  • Seniors on the team also include Emylee Pafford,??Adamaris Jaramillo and student trainers Alexis Escamilla and Jaqueline Fennel.?
  • Kennedale has three games left in district play with Benbrook (there) on Friday followed by Castleberry (there) the following Tuesday. Kennedale has an open date March 15 before they close out district and the regular season on March 20th at home against Diamond Hill-Jarvis.?
  • Kennedale beat Castleberry the first time around 1-0 but lost to Diamond Hill 1-0 in their first match-up. The district title is still in play between these three teams.

Wildcat soccer …?

  • The Cats beat Springtown 3-0 on Tuesday, moving Cats into a tie with Diamond Hill for 2nd place in District 7-4A based on points. Each have 20 points while district leader Castleberry has 25 points.
  • Kennedale currently has an overall record of 15-5-6.
  • It was Senior Night at Kennedale Wildcat Stadium with 10 seniors honored last night. These 10 seniors have helped give the boys soccer program its best record to date with 15 wins, 5 losses and 6 ties and the season is not over yet. This best the record of 12-11-3 set in 2014-15. That was the year that the Cats made it into the playoffs for the first time. It also marked the first time that there was a separate division for Class 4A. Kennedale has made it into the playoff each year since.
  • The seniors are Sadik Alameer Alsaadi, Blake Dailey, Aleksei Gonzalez, Jesus Gallegos, Eduardo Gonzalez, Elijah Guerra, Nicolas Ramos, Caleb Rendon, Kevin Tiero?and Ryan Bunnell.
  • Kennedale has 3 games remaining with Benbrook, Castleberry and Diamond Hill Jarvis. Barring a series of catastrophic events, Kennedale has a sure lock on a playoff berth once again.
