Allie Thornton, an SMU signee, scored just three minutes into Wednesday?s game and that was just the beginning. Five different players scored for the LadyKats.

Eryka McIntyre (Fr) scored twice along with goals by Abby Olmos (Sr) and Bailey Crowley (So) to make the score 5-0 at halftime. Alondra Olmos (Jr) capped the scoring with an unassisted goal early in the second half.
 
Kilgore didn’t get a single shot on goal …
 
It was a lonely game for the Kats? goalkeeper Sara Calzada. While Kennedale had 13 shots on goal, Kilgore couldn?t muster a single one so tight was Kennedale defense.
 
Jasper vs Kennedale in state finals …
 
The Lady Kats (26-2) will play Jasper (23-3-1) Thursday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in the state finals. This is Kennedale?s second time to be in the finals, winning last year when the Kats defeated Princeton. Jasper is making their second appearance in the state playoffs. Last year they were undefeated when the lost in the semifinal game to Princeton.
 
State finals game preview …
 
Jasper (23-3-1) is on a 17 game roll. Their last loss was to 5A Port Neches-Groves 3-2 on January 20. Their other losses have been to 6A Woodlands 3-1 and 5A Royse City 2-0. This year, Jasper has scored 158 goals to 17 allowed and have had 18 shutouts. Jasper got to the state final four this year by defeating Lorena 6-0, Little Cypress-Mauriceville 6-0, China Springs 9-0, Bay City 7-0, Hardin-Jefferson 4-1 and Salado 1-0. In the last Texas Girl Coaches Association poll, Jasper was ranked #3.
 
Kennedale and Jasper did not share any common opponents this year.
 
Kennedale (26-2) enters the state championship game as the defending champions on a 18 game winning streak. They have scored 162 goals and allowed only 14. Their two losses came against 6A Arlington Martin 4-2 and 6A Midlothian 1-0. Kennedale is currently ranked #1 in MaxPreps 4A and is listed at 29th overall in Texas and nationwide at #188. TGCA had the Kats at #2 behind Salado in 4A rankings. Kennedale has 5 players with double digit goals. Thornton leads the team, with a career high 41 goals, followed by McIntyre 26, Abby Olmos 24, Cara Hunt (Jr) 19 and Bailey Gow (Jr) 15.
