LadyKats earn 2nd trip to Region Playoff with 3-1 win

Monday night the #1 Kennedale LadyKats eliminated the #13 Argyle Lady Eagles 3-1 at Grapevine Mustang Stadium in a region quarterfinal game. So far the defending state champions are following the script laid out by Coach Strange before the season began. {{more:[read more]}}

On Monday, the LadyKats dominated the game keeping the Lady Eagles back on defense. Kennedale had 15 shots on goal to just 3 by Argyle. Scoring first for Kennedale was {{t2:Allie Thornton: }} (Sr) with an assist by {{t2:Abby Olmos: }} (Sr). Before the half, Thornton passed to {{t2:Alondra Olmos: }} (Jr) who scored what would be the winning goal to make the score 2-0. In the second half {{t2:Eryka Mcintyre: }} (Fr) scored an insurance goal with an assist by Alondra Olmos.

Argyle coach Marc Koke, whose team beat Fort Worth Diamond Hill-Jarvis 5-2 on Friday told Steve Gamel from the Denton Record-Chronicle. “We have two dynamic girls up top and thought we might get them loose. [Kennedale] just doesn’t have many weaknesses.”
Getting shots on goal (SOG) were Alondra Olmos with 3, {{t2:Lauren Otts: }} (Sr) 3, Eryka Mcintyre 4, {{t2:Bailey Crowley: }} (So) 1, Allie Thornton 2, Abby Olmos 1 and {{t2:Cara Hunt: }} (Jr) 1. {{t2:Sara Calzado: }} (Jr) had two saves on three shots on goal.
next up region playoffs …
Next up are the region playoffs which are set for this Friday and Saturday in Kennedale. The LadyKats will faceoff against Stephenville at 1:30 pm at Wildcat Stadium. Stephenville defeated Bridgeport 7-0 (bi-district), Pampa 1-0 (area) and Brownwood 3-0 (quarterfinal). Kennedale and Stephenville played in the second game of the season with the LadyKats winning 5-0.
