The volleyball regular season is fast coming to a close. As it stands now, Kennedale is 14-23 overall but 8-1 in district play and are in a tie for first place with Springtown (17-8, 7-1). {{more: read more …}}
In rankings, Texas Girls Coaches Association (TGCA) has Kennedale at #25 and Springtown as Honorable Mention. MaxPreps has Kennedale at #23 and Springtown #13 in Class 4A.
With the 3-0 sweep of Lake Worth on Tuesday night, Kennedale has only three games remaining in district play. After a bye Friday, the Kats will travel to winless Diamond Hill-Jarvis (6-15, 0-7) next Tuesday, followed by a visit from struggling Mineral Wells (6-16, 2-6) for Parents Night on Friday and then will host 3rd place Castleberry (10-15, 5-3) the following Tuesday for Senior Night.
If the tie stands, which in most likelihood it will, Kennedale and Springtown will go down as district co-champs for the second year in a row and will play a match to determine the #1 and #2 seeding for the playoffs.
