The Alvarado game was never really close. Kennedale scored the first 9 points before Alvarado got on the board. Alvarado would never score more than 8 points in any quarter (Q1 14-6, Q2 15-8, Q3 23-6, Q4 9-7).
 
For Kennedale Evie Whorley (Jr) had 23 pts, 3 rebs, 5 ast, 5 stls and 1 defl; Lucy Benson (Jr) had 13 pts, 9 rebs, 3 ast, 2 stl and 2 defl; Sydnee Biscoe (So) had 10 pts, 3 rebs, 2 ast and 2 stls; Daija Simmons (Jr) had 5 pts, 9 rebs, 1 ast and 1 blk; Payton Williams (Jr) had 3 pts, 3 rebs and 3 ast; Kylie Embry (Jr) had 3 pts, 9 rebs, 1 ast and 1 dfl; and, Sydney Johnson (Jr) had 3 rebs.

After last week?s loss to Godley and Kennedale?s only loss in district play, the Kats dropped two places in the TABC state rankings to #13 and tied with Godley for the district title. The Kennedale Lady Kats have now won 6 straight district championships or co-championships go back to 2011.
 
While the record books will record the championship for both teams, the playoff system requires a game (or flip) for seeding purposes. Choosing a game to decide first and second seed from District 7-4A, Kennedale and Godley will face off Friday night with a 6:30 p.m. tipoff at Burleson High School.

Both teams have been hurt by late season injuries with the Lady Kats losing Amanda Davis (So) and Taylor Austin (Jr) for the remainder of the season.
 
Monday will start the 4A state playoffs …
 
Regardless of the results of the game Friday night, both teams will start the 4A playoffs on Monday in bi-district play with the winner of Friday?s game playing Fort Worth Castleberry (5-15, 2-6), the fourth seed from District 8-4A, while the loser will play third-place Springtown (9-23, 5-3).
 
Both games will be played at Chisolm Trail High School in Fort Worth on Monday night with the winner of Friday?s game playing at 6 pm and the loser playing at 7:30 p.m.
