Literacy is high priority in the Rotary world. Dictionaries are a means of enhancing literary skills at an early age and Rotary Clubs are in a prime position to provide a means of encouragement. Every year the Rotary Clubs around the world promote literacy and invest in the success of children by providing dictionaries to third graders.
 
2,568 dictionaries since starting the projects …

To date the Kennedale Rotary Club has provided a total of 2,568 dictionaries to students at Patterson Elementary, Delaney Elementary, and Fellowship Academy. This is a gift to each student for their own keeping.

The Kennedale Rotary Club posted, “The project is always enthusiastically received by students. The students are excited to receive their very own dictionary as evidenced by their eagerness to find words, both old and new. For some children, this may be the very first book they have owned.”
 
The Rotary post went on to say, “We have received some amazing thank-you letters from students. Parents are equally overjoyed and openly appreciative of the gift made by Rotary which clearly exemplifies the importance of education and of their child to succeed.
