Local church food drive begins on the rooftop

The First United Methodist Church of Kennedale has announced its participation in the Robin on the Roof food drive for area food banks including the local church’s mission food and clothing program. The drive kicks off today. {{more:[Full Story]}}
This annual event has Robin Evans perched on the rooftop of All Saints Lutheran Church in Arlington for the length of the drive. A number of churches in the area participate including Kennedale Methodist, All Saints Lutheran (4325 SW Green Oaks Blvd, Arlington) and Edge Park United Methodist Church (5616 Crowley Rd, Ft Worth)
It all starts this morning and Robin says she will not come off the roof, rain or shine, until 150,000 lbs of food have been collected. A radio broadcast by 94.9 KLTY will be made from All Saints this morning to help kick off the drive beginning at 8 am.

What is collected in Kennedale, during this two day event, will stay in Kennedale for the local food bank according to Laurie Middleton Sanders who has been promoting program for the Kennedale church. First

The First United Methodist Church is located 5th & Municipal in Kennedale. Donations can be dropped off at the Dover Building, the ?the yellow building?. Money donations are accepted. Each $1 donated equals five pounds of food.
