Local church to start annual food drive for area food pantries

Beginning May 30, “Robin on the Roof” food drive will start at First United Methodist Church of Kennedale.
 
If you don’t know what this is, Robin Evans sits on top of a church roof, 24/7 just going down to use the restroom, until enough people bring her canned goods and non perishable foods for the smaller area Food Banks. {{more}}
 
First United Methodist Church has been on her perch for the past 4 years. This year Robin will be “roof sitting” on her home church, All Saints Lutheran Church on Kelly Elliott and Green Oaks in Arlington.
 
For the first time there are three official drop off locations:
  • First United Methodist Kennedale
  • Edge Park United Methodist
  • All Saints Lutheran. Kennedale
Kennedale First Methodist will be collecting for two local causes – the Kennedale Back Pack Program and Bisbee Baptist Church Food Pantry and is urging all to come and drop off your donations
 
Robin will not come down until she reaches 85,000 pounds of food! Dollar donations can be made through pay pal with each dollar given equalling 5 pounds of food.
 
Kennedale First Methodist and Bisbee Baptist Church urge Kennedale residents to “Spread the news, spread the food, and spread the love!!”
