Lots of first in the last 12 days for KHS

Strong performances in many different areas … Updates in red for “first”

This is the

time of year for UIL events especially district contests. Kennedale students made the best use of their

skills, talents and intellect to claim some district titles and award and for many to advance to the next level.? {{more: continue …}}

The following

is a short list of the achievements made in under two weeks involving 200+

students in both direct and supporting roles. Stories, if not already published, will follow about each of this events along with photos of the participants.?

  • First place

    in the district in UIL Academics contest

  • First place

    in the district in UIL Track and Field for both the Lady Kats and Wildcats.

  • First time

    since at least 2014 that KHS Theatre has advance to regional competition after winning

    district and advancing as one of the top three plays at area contest.

  • First time

    for both girls and boys soccer teams to play in UIL quarterfinals.

  • First time

    for boys soccer to capture both bi-district and area titles.

  • First KHS archer to go to the NASP Nationals tournament after top KHS Archery team finishes 10th?overall in the state tournament. The KHS

    Archery program will also send archers to compete in the Red River Shootout in

    Denison, TX for the first time. This tournament features some of the top HS archers in the

    state vs some of Oklahoma best!

  • First time straight

    Ones (top scores) for all three KHS Bands ? Concert Band, Symphonic Band and Wind Ensemble at UIL

    Concert and Sight Reading Contest.

  • Top score for KHS Choir in sight reading plus a 2 on stage at UIL competition.
  • Regional qualifiers for both Lady Kat and Wildcat golf teams after finishing 2nd?in district play.?
  • State qualifiers for four KHS Outdoor Education Bass Fishing team members . This is the fourth year for the the program to have team members qualify for the Texas High School Bass Association State Tournament.?
  • First place finish for KHS Lady

    Kat track member in the Texas Relays Division I 100 meter dash and the 4×100 meter

    relay along with a 3rd in the 4×200 meter relay. The Texas Relays annually

    feature the best in Texas High School track.

  • Six LadyKat/Wildcat basketball players named Academic All-State.
  • One full four year scholarship by TCU awarded to a KHS senior.
