The Kennedale Police have reported that an 18 year male was shot and killed Monday afternoon at 6300 Treepoint Drive on the border of Kennedale and Arlington.
Police responding to 911 calls, found a man face down in the street. The victim was later identified as Carl Wilson, a senior at Martin High School. {{more}}
Early reports have said there were several males involved in the shooting which occurred around 4 p.m. Monday afternoon. Police are working with Arlington PD and the Arlington School District to assist in identifying those involved.
“Apparently this has to do with something that occurred at Martin High School, so these are Arlington students. So hopefully they’ll have some information on people we’re looking for,” said Kennedale Police Chief Tommy Williams.
Kennedale and Arlington police responded but since it was in the city of limits of Kennedale. the KPD is in charge of the investigation.
Wilson was identified as a football player at Martin High School and a father of a young son.
Arlington school officials have announced that counselors will be available to talk to Martin students on Tuesday.
Friends are organizing a candlelight vigil for 5:30 p.m. Tuesday at the scene of the shooting.
