Mayor out in the cold today to raise money

Kennedale Mayor John Clark has accepted the challenge to raise donations for the Salvation Army?s Christmas Red Kettle fund. It is part of the annual Mayor?s Challenge in which mayors of different cities help the drive by having a friendly competition.

  • How about a challenge? Well, it is a cold, wet and miserable day to be out and about.
  • How about a little competition? The mayor of the little town south of here called Mansfield has claimed the title 3 years in a row.
  • How about the feeling of doing some good with just a little bit of change? Check out this video.

Mayor Clark and his wife will be out today until 8 p.m. Even if don?t want to get out of your car, they will come to you. Pennies, nickels, dimes, quarters or bills will be gladly accepted.
 
Drive by Walmart at 287 and Little Road and drop some change in the kettle. Make sure it is at the grocery entrance ? look for the City of Kennedale sign.
