Earning national recognition from Kennedale were Sara Calzada and Cara Hunt. Both senior student athletes were integral players on a team that won 2 state championships and never lost a district game over their final 3 years of play while going 74-5-3.

A total of 85 players receive High School Scholar All-American recognition, including 36 male student-athletes and 49 female student-athletes. Six players from Texas were selected for the boys and girls scholars teams – 2 from Kennedale and 4 from Aledo (2 female and 2 male players).

Sara Calzada?s

honors while playing goalkeeper include 2nd Team All-State, Academic All-State, District MVP and a three

time all-district player. Sara will be attending Central Texas Baptist College.

Cara Hunt? honors while playing mid-fielder include TASCO All-Star, All-State Honorable Mention, Academic All-State, TASCO

All Region, District MVP two years running, three time all-district and LadyKat

Team MVP. Cara will be attending Lubbock Christian University.

The 2016-17 NSCAA Scholar All-Americans will be formally recognized during the NSCAA All-American Luncheon in conjunction with the 2018 NSCAA Convention from Jan. 17-21, 2018 in Philadelphia.
