Nettie Mae was born August 13, 1918 to Sam and Cleo Cooper in Ft. Worth, TX. She attended school in Kennedale, Ft. Worth, and graduated from Mansfield in 1936. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Kennedale and past President of the UMW there. She was a member of the Daughters of Rebekah and a past Noble Grand and Past District Deputy. She was a member of the Kennedale Senior Citizens Center.

Mrs. Cassidy was preceded in death by her husbands Marcus W. Black and Earl Cassidy Jr, brothers and their wives Bill and Lucy Cooper, Henry and Opal Cooper, Leroy and Rubye Cooper, Doug and Ruby Nell Cooper, Stepchildren Jerry Cassidy and Carol Cassidy Griffith.

Survivors include daughters Betty Black Spitzer, Martha Black Elrod, stepson and wife Bill and Jane Ann Cassidy, 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 4 great-great grandchildren, and a large extended family of nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services was Saturday August, 18 at Emerald Hill Funeral Home and burial followed at Emerald Hills Memorial Park Cemetery.
