In years past, schools that were not 5A/6A had a hard time getting coverage. Now it is not unusual to open the sports page on any given day and see an article about Kennedale athletics. Blame it on the girls (2015 state champions soccer team) or boys (undefeated regular season 2014 football) but, whatever the case, it is nice.

The article pays homage to the winning record of Head Coach and Athletic Director Richard Barrett (14 years running) and notes that the Cats are off to 2-0 start averaging 56 points and 489.5 yards rushing per game.

?We?re going to do what we?ve been doing, and that?s running the ball,? Barrett told the Star Telegram.

The offense has solidified around the running of Quardraiz Wadley (Sr) at 14.7 yards a carry. ?We have others that can add to the run game a lot, but Quardraiz is our workhorse and will continue to be,? Barrett said.

The article does mention the running of Jaden Knowles (So) who has rushed for 210 yards and 4 touchdowns in two games.
