Owner walks in on burglary attempt

Last week, the owner of a local business in the 100 block of Collett Sublett, reported that he interrupted a burglary. The owner arrived at work to observe a vehicle driven by a female parked at his fence line. A known male suspect was carrying a bundle and walking toward the car from a storage shed on the property. The male dropped the bundle of copper wire he was carrying when confronted by the victim. {{more}}The suspect then left with the female driving the vehicle. A check of the building revealed a number of hand tools missing. The victim provided suspect identity and a license plate number for the vehicle.

The Kennedale Police Department incident report for February 16, 2014 to February 22, 2014 included the following reports.

  • 2/18 Burglary of Building; 100 block Collett Sublett Rd.
  • 2/18 Burglary of Building; 500 block Kennedale Pkwy
  • 2/18 Criminal Mischief 500 < 1500; 6300 block Tealpond Dr.
  • 2/18 Theft of Materials ALUM/BRNZ/COPPER/BRASS < 20K; 100 block Pine Meadows Dr.
