?
Hello, this is Superintendent Chad Gee with an update for

all of our KISD families. I would like to thank you all for your patience as we

have been working diligently to have answers to the numerous questions that

have arisen as a result of this unprecedented health situation. {{more:? continue …}}?

?
Unfortunately, there are still many

unanswered questions as of right now. KISD has been and will continue to be in

daily contact with our local, state, and federal agencies for information and

guidance.

?

I also want to update you on where

we stand as of today – Tuesday, March 17th:

  • All STAAR testing has been canceled for this

    school year by Governor Abbott;

  • The UIL has suspended all practices and contest

    until March 29th;

  • We have extended the deadline for our teachers

    to submit grades for the 3rd nine weeks until noon tomorrow;

  • Report cards are still being worked out at this

    time;

  • All KISD buildings and facilities are closed to

    staff and visitors as only essential personnel are permitted at this time;

  • We are feeding students lunches from 11:30-1:00

    at Patterson Elementary in a drivethrough format;

  • Our maintenance and custodial staff have been

    working hard to ensure that all classrooms, offices, and campuses are

    thoroughly sanitized for everyone?s return;

  • Our child nutrition department has provided

    close to 500 meals to students in the past two days;

  • And finally, our Curriculum Department and

    Technology Department, along with campus administrators, are working diligently

    to put together resources for all students during this absence. Our Learning at Home website will be available

    tomorrow on our district website.

Our decisions may change as this

situation evolves. We are committed to providing you with timely and accurate

updates. We will continue to update our Coronavirus (COVID-19) page on the district website

as information becomes available.

Again, we want to express our

appreciation for your continued flexibility, patience, and understanding. We

care deeply about all Kennedale ISD students, families, and staff and will

continue to share information and decisions as promptly as possible.

Thank you

for your care for one another and yourselves during this time.
