RF Patterson Elementary has been offering parenting workshops for Patterson elementary families with a different one offered monthly according to Principal Cari Blackstone. {{more:Read more … }}
The workshops are conducted by trained personnel from The Parenting Center in Fort Worth. The first workshop was on September 8 entitled ?Parenting Styles.? There will be five more in the series.
Blackstone said that ?while it is okay to attend just one, it is hoped that interested parents will be able to attend all. ? All workshops are free.
A dinner will be served beginning at 5:15 in the cafeteria the day of each workshop. Childcare will be provided in the gym for the duration of the workshop. The workshops will begin at 6:00 P.M. and will last one hour.
Remaining programs are all scheduled on Thursday evening. Topic and dates are:
- Building Self-Esteem, October 13, 2016
- Improving Communication, November 10, 2016
- Developing Responsible Children, January 12, 2017
- Positive Discipline, February 9, 2017
- Making Rules & Enforcing Consequences, April 6, 2017
