The Kennedale Police Department reported the following 20 incidents for the two week period October 06, 2019, through October 19, 2019. The reports included terroristic threat, burglary of vehicle, drugs/narcotics, DWI, hit and run, criminal trespass, missing person, assault, and evading arrest. {{more: continue …}}

These reports and others were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.

10/7 ? Terroristic Threat?Wildcat Way … On this date, a suspect was arrested for terroristic threat. The complaint stemmed from a football game at Kennedale High School on October 4, 2019. The suspect, an adult male student, allegedly made a statement to witnesses that he was going to his vehicle to get a gun and shoot another student. This caused the witnesses to be concerned enough to notify police officers working security for the stadium. An officer immediately notified district officials and requested that the stadium be evacuated while the suspect was sought by other officers. During the evacuation of the stadium, the suspect was located and detained for questioning. Due to not having a witness present at that time, and the suspect denying the statement, he was released pending further investigation. He was allowed to leave after it was confirmed that he did not have a car or a weapon. On October 7, 2019 a warrant was secured for the suspect?s arrest after detectives were able to obtain a written witness statement. The suspect was arrested and transported to jail for booking.

10/7 ? Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence)?…?At 1:45 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A female reported that she had been in an argument with a male suspect who lives in the residence when he assaulted her. The female changed her story multiple times and showed no injuries from the alleged assault. The male stated to officers that he was lying on the couch when the female sat on top of him and began scratching his face. The male reported that he recently had surgery and was unable to actively defend himself. The male did exhibit injuries consistent with his story. The female was placed under arrest for the assault. She was transported to jail for booking.

10/8 ??Aggravated Assault w/Deadly Weapon??…?At 3:55 p.m. officers responded to an assault call. A juvenile male victim reported that he had been assaulted by his mother. The mother had used a broom to strike the victim and the broom broke, causing a laceration that required stitches. The step-father confirmed the victim?s account but then, after a phone call, refused to answer any further questions on the advice of an attorney. The step-father requested that all officers leave the premises. After leaving the residence a report was sent to the Department of Family Services to open an investigation as well.

10/8 ???Missing Person (Juvenile)?…?At 7:20 p.m. an officer responded to a report of a runaway juvenile. The victim in the previous offense was reported by the mother as a runaway. He left the residence sometime after officers cleared from the first call for service. The mother believes he may be in Fort Worth with friends.

10/7 ? Hit and Run Accident?W. Kennedale Parkway …?An officer responded to a report of a hit and run accident. A victim reported that her 2013 Toyota was struck by a bronze Infiniti SUV as the suspect attempted to change lanes to pass. The vehicle failed to stop and the victim continued to follow the vehicle for a short distance before breaking off.

10/8 ? Sexual Assault?Lone Oak Court …?At 10:00 a.m. a juvenile female victim contacted the high school resource officer with an outcry of being sexually assaulted. The victim reported that she had been sexually assaulted approximately two weeks earlier by a known male suspect. Both the victim and the suspect are students at the high school. The victim?s mother was contacted and responded to the school. The case is being forwarded to detectives for further investigation and interviews.

10/8 ? Criminal Trespass?Mansfield Cardinal Road …?At 10:00 a.m. officers responded to a criminal trespass complaint. A female homeowner stated that she came home to find the side door to her home standing open. Nothing was reported missing.

10/8 ? Criminal Trespass?Wildcat Way …?At 12:01 p.m. officers responded to a report of a former male student refusing to leave the high school campus. The male, who was experiencing a mental health crisis, was on top of a storage building and refusing to come down. Officers were finally able to calm the male down and get him off of the building. He was detained for transport to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental evaluation.

10/9 ? Public Intoxication?Valley Lane …?At 11:49 a.m. officers responded to an intoxicated male in a vehicle. The officers located the vehicle with the adult male still inside. The male displayed characteristics of being heavily intoxicated. He was unable to perform a field sobriety assessment. The male was arrested for public intoxication and transported to jail for booking. His vehicle was impounded.

10/9 – Burglary – E. Kennedale Parkway: On this date, officers responded to a report of a burglary. Several suspects had entered the property during the overnight hours and attempted to remove vehicles and tools. The offense was captured on security video.

10/13 ? Incident (Other) W. Kennedale Parkway … At 10:38 a.m. officers responded to a disturbance. An adult male was causing a disturbance inside of a business by verbally abusing customers. The male was identified to the officers by store personnel and he was asked to step outside. The male at first lied about his identity. When questioned further the male admitted his true identity, stating that he lied because he is not supposed to be on that property. A criminal trespass warning was located in dispatch and the male was handcuffed for transport to jail. It was discovered that the warning was actually an alert to watch for the male on the property. He was released at the scene after being issued an actual trespass warning that was signed by all parties involved.

10/13 ? Burglary Mountain View Lane … At 10:36 p.m. officers responded to a burglary complaint. A victim returned home after being gone for several days. A window had been opened but no forced entry was observed. The alarm system was still set and had not sounded when the intruder entered. Taken were a pair of athletic shoes and two game deck consoles. Officers obtained a fingerprint from the window. The victim was able to name a possible suspect.

10/15 ? Abandoned/Found Property S. New Hope Road … At 8:20 a.m. officers responded to a complaint. An adult female had discovered a teddy bear left along with a pornographic magazine in the women?s restroom of a city park. The items were photographed and collected to be placed in property and evidence. It is unknown at this time why the items were left there.

10/16 ? Driving While Intoxicated N. Little School Road … At 2:18 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for erratic driving. The adult female driver displayed symptoms of intoxication. She was unable to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment. She was placed under arrest and transported to jail for booking. A blood draw warrant was obtained in order to take a blood sample for analysis.

10/15 ? Evading Arrest or Detention Valley Lane … At 1:40 p.m. an officer observed a 2019 Kia run a stop sign. The vehicle was occupied by a male driver and possibly a female passenger. The vehicle fled when the officer attempted to initiate a traffic stop. As the vehicle was fleeing toward I-20 on Kennedale Parkway, it drove into oncoming traffic. Due to the danger presented to the motoring public, the officer broke off attempting to stop the vehicle, per the department?s policy. A short time later the vehicle was located abandoned nearby in Forest Hill. The vehicle was processed for evidence and officers were able to locate an owner as well as a possible driver.

10/17 ? Theft $750 to $2,500?Sunrise Drive … At 12:04 p.m. a victim reported that her iPhone 11 was taken by a known suspect during a personal altercation with the victim?s adult son. The victim texted the suspect and asked for the return of the phone. The suspect texted back that the phone had been destroyed and that it would not be returned.

10/18 ? Theft $750 to $2,500 W. Kennedale Parkway … At 12:29 p.m. an officer responded to a theft complaint. A victim reported that unknown suspect(s) had entered a locked storage yard and removed a company trailer. The victim stated that the suspect(s) could possibly be former employees as none of the locks were forced open. The victim believes that the suspect(s) may have had keys.

10/19 ? Possession Drug Paraphernalia W. Kennedale Parkway … At 7:51 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. The adult male driver had multiple warrants issued for his arrest. He was taken into custody for transport to jail. During the arrest and handcuffing the male was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. That charge was added to the others. He was booked into jail without incident.

10/19 ? Abandoned/Found Property S. Dick Price Road … At 4:50 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. The adult female driver was found to have two outstanding arrest warrants. She was placed under arrest and transported to jail for booking.

10/19 ? Burglary of Vehicle Wildcat Way … At 11:39 p.m. a victim reported that her vehicle had been burglarized while parked in the high school parking lot. A window was broken out in order to obtain the property. Taken was a backpack that had been left in the vehicle. The victim?s spouse had pinged the phone to locate it and the backpack was found in an apartment dumpster in Arlington. All items taken were still in the backpack except the victim?s wallet with contents. Also found was an unknown cell phone that was determined to have been taken in a separate vehicle burglary in Arlington.
