The Kennedale Police dealt with several incidents of family violence during the first week of August along with several other incidents. {{more: Read more …}}
 
These reports were in addition to on-going investigations. These do not include calls where no report was written Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been deemed unfounded.

7/31 – Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) – At 1:38 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A female victim advised that both she and her father had been assaulted by the victim?s husband while at their home. The victim had been arguing with her husband in a bedroom when he assaulted her. When this happened she called for her father to assist her in getting away. The suspect struck the father as he entered the room, knocking him to the floor. Officers were advised that the suspect had been drinking and he is violent when drunk. The victims left and drove to a family member?s house to report the offense. The suspect was contacted at the residence where the offense occurred but failed to give any type of explanation as to why there was blood at the scene and damage to the home interior. He was arrested for the assaults and transported to jail for booking.

7/31- Possession of Marijuana <2 oz. – 200 block of Cloverlane Drive: At 11:37 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for an equipment violation. Upon approaching the driver?s side window, the officer smelled marijuana inside the vehicle. During the interview it was determined that the driver was in possession of a bag of marijuana found in the passenger compartment of the car. He was arrested and transported to jail for booking.

7/31 – Driving While Intoxicated – 600 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: AT 9:13 p.m. officers were advised by dispatch of a domestic disturbance in Mansfield. The suspect, a male, had left the scene and was driving to his home in Kennedale. Officers located the suspect just before he turned into his driveway. The suspect, who was extremely intoxicated, was non-compliant and combative with officers. He failed to successfully complete a field sobriety assessment and was arrested for DWI. He was transported to jail for booking but refused a breath test. Shortly after arriving at the jail the suspect lost consciousness. Jail medical staff concluded that the suspect needed immediate treatment by hospital staff and he was transported to Mansfield Methodist by the officer. The suspect passed out again at the hospital. The officer completed a blood draw warrant and transmitted it to a magistrate for review and signature. The warrant was returned approved and the hospital staff drew the blood for the DWI lab. Due to the suspect?s intoxication level, it was decided to release him to the care of the medical staff and file the case at a later date. The suspect?s criminal history indicated he already has 3 or more convictions for DWI.

8/01 – Lost Property – 300 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At 5:26 p.m. an officer met with a victim who wanted to report a missing ring. The victim stated that she had been placing mail in a mail box at the post officer on Friday when her wedding ring fell off of her finger into the box. The ring was not in the box when the victim contacted postal employees on Monday to look in the box. A call was made to the distribution center to see if they located the ring. They advised they would notify her if it was found.

8/01 – Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) – At 9:47 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A 17 year old male victim stated that his girlfriend?s 50 year old father had assaulted him earlier. The altercation began due to the suspect?s high level of intoxication. The suspect, who was in bed when officers arrived, was arrested and transported to jail for booking.

8/02 – Burglary of Motor Vehicle – 433 block of S. Eden Road: At 4:16 a.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown entered his vehicle by breaking out a window. The vehicle was parked at the victim?s place of employment. Suspect(s) removed a handgun and other items valued at $1189.00. The damage to the window was estimated at $500.00.

8/03 – Assault by Contact – At 2:19 a.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A mother and daughter, both adults, were arguing when the mother assaulted the daughter. The mother was charged with the assault.

8/03 – Missing Person (Juvenile) – At 5:02 a.m. a complainant reported to police that her 16 year old granddaughter had run away. The granddaughter was not supposed to leave the residence. The complainant heard a loud pick-up truck and looked out of a window to see her granddaughter and a 16 year old female friend getting into the vehicle. Both girls were carrying bags. The granddaughter had left a note that she was running away.

8/04 Theft $750 to $2500 – 4200 block of Danny Drive: At 9:04 p.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown had removed two tires and a jack from his yard. The items were valued at $1230.00.

8/04 ? Assault – At 4:40 p.m. officers responded to a domestic disturbance. A female victim stated that her former boyfriend had come to the home and demanded to be allowed inside. When she refused the suspect kicked the door until it opened. The victim used her body weight to hold the door long enough to call police. The suspect had left the area immediately after the offense and before officers cold arrive.

8/04 – Missing Person (Adult) – At 9:21 p.m. a complainant reported that his 17 year old daughter had left home with her 17 year old boyfriend. The boyfriend and the complainant were involved in a domestic assault earlier in the week. A report was filed listing the daughter as missing.

8/04 – Recovered Stolen Vehicle – 600 block of Bluebonnet Lane: At 12:28 p.m. officers responded to a suspicious vehicle report. A silver 2004 Dodge Ram truck was parked between Joy Lane and Bluebonnet Lane on Border Street. The vehicle was listed as stolen out of Fort Worth. The vehicle was impounded to be held for Fort Worth police.

8/06 – Unlawful Possession of Firearm (Felon) – 200 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 2:42 a.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. The driver falsely identified himself at first and later told the officer that he lied about his identity because he had a warrant for his arrest. The suspect had a handgun behind the driver side seat in the vehicle. The suspect, a possible gang member from Arlington, was on felony probation for robbery. He was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm and for the outstanding warrant. The suspect was found to be in possession of several pieces of identifying information for two Grand Prairie residents. Grand Prairie police confirmed that both residents were victims of robberies where a male identified himself as a Mansfield police officer. Mansfield had also reported a similar offense in their city. The suspect was transported to jail for booking.

8/06 – Assault Bodily Injury – 400 block of S. Dick Price Road: At 11:14 p.m. a victim reported that he was assaulted by a male customer of the victim?s business. The victim was operating a piece of machinery when the suspect approached him and started an argument. The suspect struck the victim and caused a laceration that required several stitches to close. The suspect left the area immediately after the assault.

8/06 – Assault Bodily Injury (Family Violence) – At 11:48 a.m. officers responded to an assault. A female victim reported that her boyfriend had come to her place of business and assaulted her because she would not give him money. The suspect also broke the victim?s car window to get to her and strike her several times. The suspect took her vehicle and left his at the scene. The same suspect returned the next day and broke into the business. He was leaving as the victim arrived. The victim was fearful as the suspect had called her earlier and stated that he was going to kill her. The suspect also stated he was not fearful of the police. Due to the assault and the threats, an emergency protective order was requested for the victim and her children. The suspect has been arrested before for family violence against the victim.
