Range of incidents reported during Jan 3-16 by KPD

The Kennedale Police incident reports for the two week

period January 3 ? 16 listed 27 incidents ranging from criminal mischief to death

investigation. These reports were in

addition to on-going investigations. {{more}}These do not include calls where no report

was written. Some of the offenses, after further investigation, may have been

deemed unfounded.

01/03 – Accident – 1000 block of Oak Hill Park: At 1:30 a.m. officers responded to a one vehicle rollover accident. The vehicle driver and passenger fled the scene before officers arrived, according to witnesses. An officer located the vehicle driver several blocks away and brought him back to the scene. The vehicle was impounded.

01/03 – Criminal Mischief $100 to $750 – 400 block of Steeplechase Trail: At 11:40 a.m. an officer responded to a report of a damaged vehicle. A 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer was legally parked at the curb and sustained damage to the driver side of the vehicle. The damage was two small impact points.

01/04 – Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information – Timberline Drive: At 12:15 p.m. a victim reported to police that her Social Security number was used by an unknown person to file a fraudulent 1099 form for income.

01/04 – Criminal Mischief Under $100 – 100 block of Creekside Court: At 12:05 a.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown set off an explosive device in her mailbox. The mailbox, valued at $90.00, was destroyed.

01/04 – Burglary – 800 block of Trent Street: At 11:49 a.m. a victim reported that his business was burglarized during the overnight hours. Person(s) unknown forced entry into the building and removed tools valued at $9,575.00.

01/05 – Vehicle Burglary – 300 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At 7:43 a.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown illegally entered his property during the long holiday weekend. Suspect(s) removed $4,500.00 in tools and equipment from a work truck.

01/06 – Online Solicitation of a Minor – At 9:05 a.m. an adult male reported that he discovered his 14 year old daughter was exchanging sexual texts by phone with an unknown adult male out of state. The complainant requested that officers investigate and gave consent for the phone to be searched. The phone was placed into evidence for full processing.

01/06 – Burglary – 300 block of Bolen Road: At 4:22 p.m. a victim reported that her storage unit had been illegally entered. The door was pried open but nothing appeared to be missing. The victim gave the name and vehicle license plate of a possible suspect.

01/07 – Emotionally Disturbed Person – At 9:45 p.m. officers responded to a medical call with the Fire Department. An adult male on scene stated that his 14 year old granddaughter had taken an unknown medication and was unresponsive. The victim has been dealing with depression but has not been prescribed medication for it. She was transported to JPS Hospital for treatment.

01/08 – Death Investigation – Peggy Lane: At 10:57 a.m. an officer responded to a death investigation report. The victim, a 74 year old male, was being treated for lung cancer. The death appeared to be non-suspicious in nature. His doctor was contacted and stated he would sign the death certificate.

01/08 – Information Report – 100 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 4:26 p.m. a report was made in regards to a missing firearm. The handgun, a 9mm, was missing from the complainant’s business. It is unknown at the time of the report if it was stolen or misplaced.

01/08 – Burglary – 300 block of Bolen Road: At 4:31 p.m. a victim reported that unknown suspect(s) entered his storage unit and removed tools valued at $2,400.00. Entry was made by prying the door open.

01/08 – Vehicle Burglary – 600 block of N. Little School Road: At 5:25 p.m. a victim reported that her unlocked vehicle was entered while she was parked at her church. Suspect(s) took her wallet with credit cards and drivers license. The items were found by an officer in Arlington. Several unauthorized charges were made to her debit card.

01/09 – Possession of Marijuana – 400 block of W. Kennedale Parkway: At 6:34 p.m. an officer stopped a vehicle for speeding. Upon approaching the vehicle the officer smelled an odor consistent with burnt marijuana. The driver, a 28 year old female, was checked for warrants. She had warrants from Arlington and Fort Worth. During the interview, the driver admitted to possessing marijuana and it was found in the front seat area. She was arrested and transported to jail for booking. The drug was entered into evidence.
 

01/10 – Criminal Mischief $100 to $750 – Arthur Drive: At 3:24 p.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown damaged the passenger side tires of his vehicle. The tires were punctured during the overnight hours with a sharp object, causing them to flatten. The vehicle was parked in front of the home.

01/10 – Criminal Mischief $100 to $750 – 800 block of Sublett Road: At 6:15 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) damaged his fence by removing the wire from the support post.

01/11 – Burglary – 3800 block of Kennedale New Hope Road: At 9:50 a.m. a victim reported the burglary of an outbuilding at a business. The door had been forced open, damaging the frame. A number of files were removed but no cash is kept on site.

01/11 – Theft $750 to $2,500 – 200 block of Chateau Avenue: At 3:10 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) removed landscaping materials from the front yard of a home under construction. The materials were valued at $950.00. The theft occurred over the weekend.

01/11 – Burglary – W. Broadway Street: At 9:31 p.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) entered her residence during the day and removed electronics and personal property valued at $1,815.00. The residence was not locked at the time of the offense. The victim gave the officer information on a potential suspect.

01/13 – Vehicle Burglary – Colbi Street: At 6:19 a.m. a victim reported that unknown person(s) broke a window on her vehicle, a Chevy Tahoe, and removed the airbag along with two rear seats. The burglary occurred overnight and the property taken was valued at $6,256.00.

01/13 – Domestic Disturbance – North Road: At 7:59 p.m. an officer responded to a domestic disturbance complaint. The event occurred earlier in the evening between the male homeowner and his daughter’s boyfriend. The boyfriend and daughter both stated that they were trying to leave earlier in the evening when an altercation occurred between the two males. The father attempted to assault the boyfriend and was taken to the ground by the younger male to prevent the assault. No arrest was made as the event appeared to be self-defense. The daughter and her boyfriend left the premises.

01/13 – Emotionally Disturbed Person – 200 block of E. Kennedale Parkway: At 7:26 p.m. an officer responded to a complaint of suspicious vehicles. The complainant, a male adult, stated that he was being followed by several vehicles after leaving his girlfriend’s residence. The male complainant seemed evasive and kept pointing out numerous vehicles that he claimed were following him. It became evident to the officer that the male was having an mental episode of some type. He was transported to JPS Hospital for an emergency mental evaluation.

01/14 – Injury to a Child (Bodily Injury) – Peachtree Court: At 2:00 p.m. a school resource officer assisted CPS in an investigation of injury to a child. A female juvenile told school personnel that her mother caused injury to her back and legs with a belt while being spanked as punishment. All parties involved were interviewed and the case is being handled by CPS.

01/14 – Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information – Briar Court: At 2:00 p.m. a victim reported that person(s) unknown obtained the number to their debit card and made $1,549.05 in unauthorized charges.

01/14 – Hit and Run Accident – 700 block of Averitt Road: At 5:26 p.m. an officer responded to an accident. A female adult stated that she had accidentally backed into another vehicle, a Ford pickup, while stopped at an intersection. The female’s vehicle sustained rear end damage but the truck had none. The truck driver stated he was in a hurry and left the scene before officers were called. The female was able to obtain the license plate number of the truck as it left. The female was transported to JPS Hospital for treatment of injuries to her back and stomach.

01/15 – Fraudulent Use/Possession of Identifying Information – Ohio Court: At 4:18 p.m. a female victim reported that someone used her and her husband’s Social Security numbers to file false income tax returns.

01/15 – Assault Bodily Injury – At 9:12 p.m. officers responded to a domestic assault. A wife assaulted her husband during a verbal altercation by hitting him in the face and kicking him in the groin. The husband displayed injuries consistent with the reported assault. This is the second assault by the wife on the husband in less than a year. The wife was arrested and transported to jail.

01/16 – Hit and Run Accident – 200 block of Valley Lane: At 12:59 p.m. a victim reported that his Volvo semi tractor was damaged while parked in a lot overnight. Damage was observed to the driver’s side area of the cab. It was not apparent as to how the damage occurred.
