Second round won and done. Lady Kats sweep Aubrey

The second round of the state UIL volleyball playoff is complete. Kennedale swept Aubrey (30-28, 25-13, 25-22) last Thursday to earn a spot in the regional quarterfinals. Kennedale will play Sanger at 7 p.m. at Haslet Eaton HS tomorrow night, Tuesday, November 6. {{more: continue …}}

Earlier last week, the Lady Kats defeated Oak Cliff Faith Academy, also in three sets, to win the bi-district round.

Sanger and Aubrey play in the same district and the two teams split wins. Back in August, Kennedale and Sanger played with Sanger winning that match 2-1.

In common opponents this season, both teams

have take wins against Holiday and Bowie.? Both teams lost games against Frisco Heritage and Callisburg. In games against Boyd, Kennedale won and Sanger lost.

Maxpreps has both Kennedale and Sanger ranked in the second 10 in Class 4A with Sanger at #17 and Kennedale just two slots back at #19.

Last year Kennedale won their bi-district matchup against Stephenville in 5 sets but then fell to Graham in the area round. This will be the first time Kennedale has been area champion in at least three years. Sanger was there last year before losing out to Krum.
