?We needed more movement on offense from them,? said Kennedale coach Mindy Youngs. ?They?re our offense, we?re very guard strong. Sadie (Mahnesmith), McKinley (Bostad) and JP (Jasmyn Poe), they?re hard to beat. We needed them to get a little more movement but they?re the heart of what we do and they did their best tonight.?

It was the fifth regional semifinal appearance for Kennedale (20-11) in the last five seasons.

Youngs said the message she will deliver to her team is to be relentless in their preparation for next season, in hopes it will deliver the Wildcats to the regional round for their sixth-consecutive season.

Junior forwards Hannah Almstead and Summer Pearson along with senior guard Sharon Harkey provided a three-member boost of their own, combining for 52 of the Fillies? 72 points.

Shallowater was defeated by Abilene Wylie Saturday by a score of 76-64. Wylie advances to Austin from Region 1.
