This Saturday in Sonora Park an event, that organizers hope is fun and has lots of laughter, will be held from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. It is in the honor of Ross Shreves and organized by his students, their parents and friends of Ross. ?Ross was killed earlier this summer.

Mr. Shreves spent the last three years teaching English at Kennedale Junior High School where he also was the student council sponsor. {{more}}

In an article for the Fort Worth Star Telegram (June 6, 2013) his principal described Ross this way:?

“Quirky,” said Principal Sherri Kottwitz of Shreves. “Dry sense of humor. The kids loved him.”

Seventh and eighth graders voted Shreves the most likely to make you laugh.?

Ross was a power lifter and a member of the Strength and Stone Powerlifters.??He liked to write and had his own blog. ?Then there are his friends and family, who swear by him.

The organizers have scheduled live entertainment; vendors will be setting up tents; food will include hot dogs, snow cones, popcorn, cotton candy and the Kennedale Splash Pad will be open. A raffle will also be held.

All donations will go to a Ross Shreves’ Memorial Scholarship fund. So drop by on Saturday and share a memory or just have fun.
