This past week the Texas Sports Writer Association announced their selections to the 2018 4A ALL-State Teams including First, Second, Third and Honorable Mention. Kennedale Wildcat Football had two mentions.

Earning All-State honors from the Texas Sports Writers Association (TSWA) were Ethan Bishop and J.D. Coffey. Bishop, a senior, was selected as linebacker and Coffey, a sophomore, was selected as a defensive back. Both were named to the 2018 Honorable Mention Team.

Texas Army National Guard/THSCA Academic All State …?

Four Wildcat players earned All-State Academic as named by the Texas Army National Guard and the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA). The THSCA Academic All-State Teams recognize high school athletes who excel in the following categories: GPA, class rank and ACT/SAT score.

Earning Academic All-State were seniors?David Fielder?and?Evan Jowers (2nd team All-State) and?Clay Hilton?and Brandon Kiernan?(Honorable Mention All-State).

Nominees must be an athlete, student trainer or manager in good standing with the team; of good moral character; senior; and, have an overall grade point average of 92 or above (including courses from grades 9-11 and courses completed from grade 12).
