Kennedale is headed into the playoffs this Friday with both teams in a double header against teams from the same school. {{more: READ MORE …}}
 
The LadyKats will play at 5 pm and the Wildcats will play at 7:25 pm. Both teams will be playing Life Oak Cliff out of Dallas.

For the boys it will be their third straight playoff appearance, a first for the Wildcat program. They will be going up against the winner of District 8-4A. It will be a challenge for the Cats, Life Oak Cliff is 16-4, 11-1.
 

 
The Lions were region finalist last year losing out to Argyle. Lions do have some offensive power and it will be the interesting to see how well the Lions do against the stiff Wildcat defense.
 
Kennedale has kept most game close and have lost 4 games in shootouts after ending the regulation game in a tie. The Cats have tied and lost in shootouts to Diamond Hill, district champion Castleberry and Pittsburg (2).
 
The winner of this game will advance to play Gainesville (7-7, 3-3), a second seed from District 5-4A who had a bye in the first round. 4A

The Kennedale girls program is a true 4A power with back to back state titles and a #1 (TGCA) ranking all season long. Kennedale (18-1-1, 10-0) has outscored opponents by a combined score of 107-7 this year.
 

 
Three years ago, the Lady Kat program made the transition from playing up in Class 5A into the newly formed Class 4A soccer division. The Kats were an instant success with a combined three year record of 70-5-3 along with two state titles. In district play, the Kats have won three straight district titles with a 24-0 record.
 
It will not be easy to make it a 3-peat but the odds are still with the LadyKats. While they lost some star power from last year, there was plenty of depth to keep the winning tradition going. Watch for the play of Senior Alondra Almos (Sr) (17 goals & 28 asst), Sophomore Eryka McIntyre (26 goals & 12 asst) and Senior Cara Hunt (21 goals & 9 asst).
 
Friday night the Kats will play 4th seed Life Oak Cliff out of Dallas beginning at 5 pm. The winner will play Celina (10-8-2, 4-4), a 3rd seed from District 5-4A just behind Melissa and Argyle. 4A
