Senior night Friday night at Wildcat Stadium
 
There is not much drama on the #1 LadyKat side of the district play. The LadyKats are firmly settled on top of District 7-4A. {{more: Continue …}}The Kats are 15-1-0 for the season and 8-0-0 in district play with 32 points. Diamond Hill is in second place at 8-2-7 overall and 6-0-2 with 24 points.
 

Statewide, Kennedale has remained on top of Class 4A in the rankings at #1 (Texas Girls Coaches Association). The rest of the top ten is #2 Bellville 15-0-1, #3 Giddings 18-0-1, #4 Jasper 17-1-0, #5 Abilene Wylie 16-1-2, #6 Lorena 15-2-0, #7 Boerne 13-2-1, #8 Argyle 14-2-4, #9 Brazosport 13-1-1, #10 Salado 12-4-1.

 
The Kats will hold their annual Senior Night to recognize seniors on the team and their parents. They will be hosting 3rd place Castleberry (9-3-6, 5-1-2) who is just behind Diamond Hill at 22 points.
 
Just how good ?
 
Since district play started Kennedale has not been scored on once. The LadyKats have outscored their district opponents 62-0. Of the 16 games this season the Kats have earned 13 shutouts.
 
Overall, they have had 95 goals off of 231 shots on goal, recorded 76 assist for a total point score of 266. The Kats have allowed only 3 total goals on 73 shots on goal with an average of 4.1 saves per match.
 
If Kennedale?s stats were included in the MaxPreps Girls Spring 2017 national stats, Kennedale would lead the nation in goals, assist and points at this juncture in the season. The current MaxPreps team leader is Creekview Carrolton (TX) with 201 points, 74 goals and 53 assist.

total of 56 points. Matching her in

with 16 goals. Both are closely followed

by {{t2:Cara Hunt (Sr): }} with 20 goals and 7 assist, giving her 47 points.

An athlete and a team are awarded 2 points

for every goal scored and 1 point for every assist giving them their total

points for each game played.

 
As a team, Kennedale has recorded 70 saves which would put Kennedale in at #8 in the MaxPreps National stats for team saves. Lady Kat Goaltender {{t2:Sara Calzada (Sr): }} has recorded 13

shutouts defending against 62 shots on goal and making 59 saves for a 95%

average.

game time at 6:00 p.m.

a look ahead …

This year Kennedale will not be hosting the regional

tournament. The Region 1 tournament for Class 4A will be played at the Birdville Fine

Arts/Athletic Complex in North Richland Hills.
