The Kennedale Independent School District (ISD) Board of Trustees, at its October 24, 2018 meeting named Chad Gee, Yorktown ISD, as finalist for superintendent. By law, the Board must now wait 21 days before voting to hire Mr. Gee to be the new superintendent for Kennedale ISD. {{more: continue …}}? Mr. Gee is slated to replace outgoing Superintended Mr. Gary Dugger who is retiring after 18 years with the district.
The Board has followed a lengthy process in determining the finalist. In June 2018, the Board voted to hire Texas Association of School Boards (TASB) Executive Search Services to direct the search. TASB consultants met with staff and community groups on August 28, 2018 in a series of three meetings to discuss leadership qualities of the new superintendent. The profile developed from these meetings was the criteria used by the Board and consultants in evaluating the applicants for the position.
The Board selected 6 applicants for the initial interviews, and then narrowed it down to 3 applicants to invite back for a second interview. The board is scheduled to vote to offer a contract to Chad Gee on November 15, 2018. Mr. Gee has served as superintendent of Yorktown ISD for the past two years.
Mr. Gee?s educational career spans twenty-three years as a teacher, coach, administrator, and the last two years as superintendent of Yorktown ISD. He has also served in Comanche, Hillsboro, Northside, Mansfield, Decatur, and Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School Districts. Mr. Gee received his Bachelor?s Degree from Texas Tech University, Master?s Degree from Sul Ross State, and he is currently pursuing his Doctoral Degree in Educational Leadership at Texas A&M University Texarkana. Throughout his career Mr. Gee?s beliefs have centered on doing what is best for kids in every aspect of their education and life. Mr. Gee and his wife, Stacey, have been married for twenty-one years. They have two children Caleigh, a sophomore at Texas A&M University, and Colby, who will be a junior at Kennedale High School. Mr. Gee and his family are excited about becoming a part of the Kennedale ISD and community.
