The North Texas Strongman Association held its 2nd annual meet at Kennedale High School Athletic Complex on Saturday, July 27th. It was held in memory of strongman competitor, Ross Shreves.

The North Texas Strongman group is associated with North American Strongman, INC or NAS. ?It was started in Saginaw, TX in 1997. It bills itself as the ?premier amateur strongman corporation in the world.? {{more}} Its stated mission is ?to provide quality strongman contests for the public while ensuring fair treatment for the competitors.? The goal is to provide plenty of opportunities for its members. Contest can be accessed through the ?current event listings?and?message board, with an updated list of contests.

The competitive events are many and varied from the presses and deadlifts to the non-traditional car lifts, truck pulls, keg and tire tosses.

Many?locals competed including Cameron Wiley, Billy Redmon, Jimmy Norris, Manny Correa, Austin Little and Rex Harper. The event was organized by Bryan Barrett.
