Kennedale High School student, Gage Tijerina, writing and directing his own video has earned a trip to Austin to enter the video in the State UIL Young Filmakers Festival. {{more}}
This is the first time that Kennedale has particpated in the UIL event.
The KHS entry ?Plascity? was written and directed by senior Gage Tijerina. Actors in the film are Hailey Green, Benjamin Garcia and Derek Isensee.
The students are part of the high school?s AV program and the KHS theater department.
The short video is a dramatic short film about a female student trying to cope with the aftermath of an assault.
The video has made it through three levels of competition and now is one of six entered from Division 1 in the ?Narrative? category.
The state festival will be held this Wednesday, February 18 in Austin.
