Each year the Inland and Coastal Fisheries divisions of Texas Parks and Wildlife Department stock approximately 40 million fish in public lakes, ponds, and saltwater bays. Many of these fish are produced in the state’s three saltwater and five freshwater hatcheries.

Kennedale’s Sonora Park has been one of those stock each year, stocking the pond with catfish and trout. {{more}}

In combination with Bark in the Park and National Kids in Parks Day, the City of Kennedale is holding it annual Kid Fish Day and Fishing Contest. The pond will be stocked and ready to go, so bring your kids and their friends and a fishing pole and let them try their luck. See what kind of fish stories they will be telling next week?

The Kid Fish contest begins at 9 a.m. and continues to noon.

Other activities are scheduled throughout the day.
