Terry F. Gunter passed from this earth Saturday, July 20, 2013, at the age of 78. Celebration of life: 10 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church of Crowley, 400 South Eagle Drive, Crowley, 76036. Interment: Terry will be laid to rest in Everman Cemetery. Memorials: Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Crowley Building Fund, 400 South Eagle Drive, Crowley, Texas. 76036 {{more}}

Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Roy F. and Ruby V. Gunter and son, Michael Gunter. Terry was born June 26, 1935 in Fort Worth to the late Roy F. and Ruby V. Gunter.

Terry proudly served our country by enlisting in the U.S. Navy. Terry was employed by Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce, Fort Worth and Denver Railways and owner of Gunter Furniture Company in Kennedale, before going to work for Miller Brewing Company.

Terry retired from Miller Brewing Company in 1996, when he and Jackie started enjoying life and each other, during their many trips over the past years. Their travels included Europe, British Isle, Australia and New Zealand, China, Thailand, Egypt and other countries.

He was an officer in the Texas Jaycees where he served many years. He enjoyed coaching boy’s baseball and women’s softball. Terry was active in his church at First Baptist Church of Crowley and volunteered with Kids Hope USA through Bess Race Elementary School. He was actively involved in upward basketball. He was lucky to have his grandchildren close by where he watched them grow up and enjoyed watching them as they participated in their athletic sports. Terry was a member of the Miller Brewing Retirement Club. Terry will be deeply missed and will remain in our hearts forever.

Survivors: Wife, Jackie Gunter of Crowley; sons, Richard Gunter and wife, Denise, of Chatfield, Dwain Capshaw and wife, Lisa, of Kennedale; daughter, Redonda Baker and husband, Gary, of Arlington; sister, Linda Mowery of Arlington; brother, Ronnie Gunter and wife, Sharon, of Arlington; grandchildren, Theresa, Brady, Sam, Troy, Kasey, Kendel and Jamie; numerous nieces and nephews; and many friends.
