Some of the findings:? ?

  • Texas comes in at #10 in overall economic health with a #1 rating in exports per capita, #8 in median household income and #9 in both GDP growth and startup activity.?
  • Overall Washington (state) had the highest score. the rest of the top ten in order were Utah, Massachusetts, California, Colorado, the District of Columbia, Idaho, Oregon, Georgia and Texas.?
  • The unlucky bottom five included Louisiana, Mississippi, Alaska, West Virginia and Arkansas.?
  • The lowest unemployment rate was a between 5 states – Hawaii, Colorado, Idaho, Iowa and Maine.?
  • The highest median annual household income Utah followed by Virginia, Minnesota, Wyoming and Colorado. The lowest was Hawaii.?
  • There seemed to be some correlation between the top five state in overall economic success and innovation. The top five states rated 1, 2, 3,4 and 10 in innovation potential.?
