In our Bible Study, “Because of Bethlehem” we’ve been challenged to think about our journey of faith. In our journeys we should be wise and approach that journey with joy. Our journey is similar to the journey of the Magi. “Their story is our story”. We are all travelers on this journey in need of direction and God provides this direction. {{more: continue …}}

“When they saw that the star had stopped, they were overwhelmed with joy. On entering the house, they saw the child with Mary his mother; and they bowed down and worshiped him.” (Matthew 2:10-11)
?
Did those wise men who journeyed hundreds of miles across the desert to seek out the infant Jesus ever feel the journey wasn’t worth it? After all, it took months to make the trip, and they had gone to great expense to provide gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh for the new Child.
?
As their journey neared its end we read they had ?exceedingly great joy.? what made the difference? Their focus was totally on Jesus, the one who would be called ?Immanuel,? God with us? (Matthew 1:23).
?
Don?t let this Christmas season overwhelm you. Don?t feel you have to do everything, or go into lots of debt just to impress family and friends. Focus instead on Jesus.
?
Take time each day to read the prophecies of His coming and the wonderful story of His birth. Make this Christmas one of ?exceedingly great joy?!
?
The great joy of Christmas comes through receiving God?s gift of the Savior, Christ the Lord!
?
