These are important committees that provided the city council the feedback and advice needed to run the city in the best interest of all.
 
Library Advisory Board
 
LAB Place 1: Shirley Jackson (Since 2011)
 
Shirley has lived in Kennedale for almost 22 years. She and her husband raised their two children here, where they attended Kennedale schools. The whole family is avid readers. Shirley is active in her church and works as a substitute teacher at both Kennedale and Arlington ISD. She attended Oklahoma State and Texas A&M.
 
LAB Place 2: Sharon Dehnel (2012)
 
Sharon and her family moved to Kennedale about ten years ago for the small-town atmosphere and smaller schools. While her children (now 27, 21, 19, 19, and 19) were in KISD, Sharon was active with the theater and band programs. She has an Associate?s degree from Alvin Community College and a Bachelor?s degree from Hardin Simmons University ? both in Computer Programming. After working odd jobs for many years, Sharon went back to school in 2008 to earn a Master in Library Information Systems degree from UNT, and then moved into the faculty position of Systems/Cataloging Librarian at Dallas Baptist University. She enjoys serving on LAB because she gets to meet people in the community that she might not otherwise.
 
LAB Place 3: Stan Seat (2016)
 
Dr. Stan Seat has a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from UTA, a Master of Divinity from SMU, an earned Doctor of Ministry from TCU, a Juris Doctor from Oak Brook College of Law, and a Master of Laws from Taft. Dr. Seat is licensed as a Certified Public Accountant, and holds credentials as a Certified Fraud Examiner, Certified in Financial Forensics, Certified Insolvency and Reconstruction Advisor. Stan has three grown children, and has lived in Kennedale for a little over a year with his wife, Kay who is a retired Instructional Facilitator in the Carrollton Farmers Branch School District.
 
LAB Place 4: Rebecca Clark (Chair) 1994
 
Rebecca has lived in Kennedale since 1987, when she and John, her husband of 33 years, built their family home here. Rebecca has been teaching since 1983 and has been at Delaney Elementary since 1988. She has two adult children ? Chris, works for Novartis/Alcon, and Samantha, who teaches blind and visually impaired students in Northwest ISD.
 
LAB Place 5: Donald Rawe (2010)
 
Don has been a Kennedale resident since April 1999, when he and his wife Carol relocated from Southwest Arlington. He?s now retired, but worked in the accounting field for 42 years. In addition to LAB, Ron is also on the board of a Dallas-based credit union, active in his church, is a member of a country and western dance team, and is a regular volunteer at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. Other interests include gardening, travel, reading, and following the Texas Rangers.
 
LAB advises and formulates recommendations to city staff for all facets of library operations and planning. Regular meetings are held quarterly (January, April, July, and October)
