Wildcat Baseball starts playoff run tonight

The Kennedale Wildcat Baseball team (18-8-1, 7-3) start the playoff season in unfamiliar spot as the #2 team from District 6/3A.
 
They will be playing the best of three series tonight against Burkburnett (14-8-1, 4-4) at Jacksboro High School beginning at 7 p.m. {{more}}
 

Games 2 and 3 will be played on Friday evening, May 2. Game 2 will start at 5 p.m. and Game 3, if needed, will follow. All games will be played at Jacksboro High School, 1400 N Main St, Jacksboro, TX 76458.

 
The Wildcats had climbed to #13 in 3A ball but ended up losing their last regular season games (Mineral Wells 6-2 and Springtown 3-2). The last poll of the season just before the Springtown loss had Kennedale sitting at #20.
 
They have come out of the regular season minus one starter and ?bruised a little but nothing they can?t handle,? according to Jet Teague, Head Coach.
 
The Wildcats are no strangers to the playoffs, last year?s version finished at 28-9 overall and 9-1 in district play. They were district champs, winning both bi-district and area contest before finishing as a regional semifinalist. This year?s team started with less experience but has played above expectations and is capable of a good run in the playoffs.
 
Assistant Coaches are Paul Trantham and Richard Earle.
