The Wildcats won the first round of district action when they defeated the 3rd place Venus Bulldogs (14-16, 4-3) by a score of 86-49. Kennedale came out strong, outscoring the Dogs 22-13 in the first quarter. Brandon Conwright who scored 8 of his 27 game points in the Q1, added another 10 more points in Q2 to keep a Wildcat lead at halftime, 41-34 despite a Venus comeback attempt. But it was all over for Venus in the 3rd when the Cats shut down the Dogs by allowing just a single point for the quarter.

Along with another good night by senior forward Colton Otts who finished with 26 points, the Wildcats dominated Venus in the second half allowing only 14 points. Conwright (Sr) once again finished at the top with 27 points followed by the 26 from Otts, 13 from Darious Hammond (Sr), 12 from Stephone Jackson (Sr), 4 from by Uniikye Washington (10) and 2 each from Michael Aldridge (Sr) and Devon Stapleton (So).
February 2 – Kennedale 82 Diamond Hill 21 …
 
The following Tuesday night, the Wildcats buried the Eagles from FTW Diamond Hill-Jarvis 82-21. The winless Eagles scored only 8 points in the first half while the Cats put up 36 points. The Cats added 26 in the 3rd and 20 in the 4th. Everyone for Kennedale scored with Conwright and Washington scoring 16 each followed by Quardraiz Wadley (Sr) 11, Hammond 8, Jackson 7, Aldridge 6, Otts 5, Zach Tate (Sr) 5, Alex Groff (Jr) 3, Chris Saulsby (Jr) 3 and Stapleton 2.

February 5 – Kennedale 59 Godley 16 …
 
Friday night the Cats ran by Godley 59-16. Godley scored only 4 points in the second half as Kennedale controlled the floor and the backboards. Conwright topped out with 22 points, Hammond 14, Wadley 9, Jackson 4, Otts 4, Saulsby 2, Tate 2 and Washington 2.
 
Final game will be for 1st place …
 
In the last week of play, Kennedale will play 4th place Alvarado (3-22, 2-5) Tuesday night, February 9, game time at 8 p.m. at Alvarado Junior High School. Friday night in a battle to settle 1st place in District 7-4A, Kennedale will entertain 2nd place Midlothian Heritage (20-5, 6-1).
