The Kennedale Boys Powerlifting Team traveled to Weatherford, Texas on Saturday, March 10th to compete in the 2018 THSPA Boys Regional Championship Meet. {{more: continue …}}

Kennedale took a team of 12 lifters to the meet (one as an alternate). Each lifter had to have been ranked in the top 12 of their weight class to be able to compete at the regional meet.

Of these lifters, 6 of them placed top 5 in their weight class to allow Kennedale to accumulate a total of 29 points for a second place tie. Gainesville placed 1st followed by Kennedale and Anna in second. Finishing out the top ten were Nevada Community, Bonham, Decatur, Argyle, Sanger, Princeton and Mineral Wells.

Four qualify for state championship meet ?

To qualify for the state meet, a lifter must finish top two in their weight class. Kennedale qualified four lifters and will take one alternate. The state qualifiers are Angel Rico, Joe Cullum, Ricardo Pena and Cameron Hanna. Braxton Lediaev will go as an alternative.

The Boys State meet is on March 24th in Abilene, Texas.
