? ? There was no question who was the better team on this particular Friday in Kennedale?s loss to Stephenville 56-24, but, Kennedale had its moments. Sophomore Juwan Washington proved that he was a player of the future as he cut and danced his way down the field. Seeing Donny Darville break through the line and rumble 89 yards for a touchdown late in the game was fun. Watching Quarterback Zac Michener do what he does best, fool the defense, pull the ball down and sprint for a quick 20-25 yards. {{more}}

? ? Kennedale did prove that it could control the ball as it marched 70 yards in a 12 play drive in the 2nd quarter and another 75 yard -14 play drive in the 3rd quarter, scoring each time. But that was all for not in a game that saw Stephenville roll up 677 yards, 478 of that by air. Kennedale finished the game with 350 total yards this was below it season average of 478 yards per game. It was definitely the Tyler Jones show. The 6?2 senior quarterback for Stephenville completed 77% of his passes for 478 yards and 8 touchdowns. Tack on his 108 yards rushing and you have the Stephenville offense. It was almost worth the cost of admission.

? ? It was a painful way to end an otherwise great year. Kennedale finished the year at 9-3. The Cats won district 6-3A decisively outscoring their district opponents 308-45. Kennedale had 4 shutout victories.?And, the Wildcats under Head Coach and Athletic Director, Richard Barrett, earned their 12th straight playoff berth and gave Barrett his 200th victory with Kennedale.
