Kats are closing in on another district title with 4 game left to play. The Kats had a huge win over Western Hills 81-18 on Friday.

This puts their record 8-0 in district play and 16-13 overall.?{{more: continue …}}

So far the

Kats are dominating the district. According to MaxPreps, the Lady Kats have crushed

their district opponents by outscoring them 582 points to 225 points. The average margin of victory between the Lady Kats and their district challengers is 45 points. Dunbar, losing by 18, were the closes in the Kats win 63-45 on January 2.?

The Kennedale Wildcat basketball team on Friday, with a win over Western Hills, secured first place in in the first round action in District 9-4A. The Cats have moved their overall record to 25-2

and 6-0 in district.??

In the game on Friday, the Wildcats won every quarter after taking a huge 28-7 advantage in

the first quarter on their way to 93-49 win.

While Western Hills came into the game with Kennedale one game back, they

found themselves totally outmatched. Especially so with Kennedale?s inside game, as senior forward Tre Jones put up 30 points, almost outscoring Western Hills

as a team. But, he was not the only Wildcat scoring, thirteen different Cats put

up points in this game.

McQueen had 16 points for Western Hills as they fell to 18-9 and 4-2 in

district.

With 6

games played Western Hill is sitting alone in 3rd place behind

Kennedale (24-2, 6-0) and Dunbar (11-12, 5-1). The rest of the district in order of place are

Castleberry (3-3, 18-6), Benbrook (6-14,2-4), Lake Worth (7-18, 1-5) and

Diamond Hill-Jarvis (0-6, 4-23).

Kennedale

begins second round on Tuesday with a game at Lake Worth followed by another

showdown with 2nd place Dunbar at home on Friday, January 25. Both

games are 8 p.m.

District standing – Lady Kats …?

The Kats are a game ahead of Benbrook at 8-0 with Benbrook at 8-1 followed by Dunbar (7-2), Lake Worth (4-5), Castleberry (2-5), Western Hills (0-6) and Diamond Hill (0-7).

This week the Lady Kats travel to Lake Worth on Tuesday and Dunbar visits this Friday. Next week the Kats will wrap their regulat season with a Tuesday game at Diamond Hill on 1/29/18 and then a Friday game at home against Benbrook. All varsity games start at 6:30 p.m.

poll after last week games and with no losses at the top, Hoopinsider.net remains the same with #6?Kennedale securely in place in Class 4A. Wilmer-Hutchins remains in 1st

place followed by Faith Family Academy, Silsbee, Houston Yates, Decatur,

Kennedale, Argyle, Dallas Lincoln, Dallas Carter and Dunbar.

poll is the same as Hoopsinsider.net poll through #6 Kennedale while Dunbar is in

7th place followed by Argyle, Dallas Lincoln and topping out in 10th place is Dallas Carter.?

rankings remain the same in the top 5 ranking with Wilmer-Hutchins, Decatur,

Faith Family Academy, #4 Kennedale and Dallas Carter. The bottom five has some

changes with Yates coming in at #6. Argyle moving into #7 place replacing

Liberty Hill who dropped back one while Silsbee slid into #8 ahead of Palestine

and Spring Hill.
