Wildcat team of 2016 among the smartest in America according to ABCA

Kennedale High School Head Baseball Coach Paul Trantham has announced that the Kennedale Wildcat team of 2016 has won a unique and singular honor awarded to just over 140 high school and college teams in America and one of just of 48 high school across the country. {{more:[Read more}}
This past year the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA), whose members include high school, college and professional coaches set up the first Team Academic Excellence Award.
For a team to qualify, the team had to have an average of 3.0 or better on a 4.0 scale during the academic year 2015-16. Kennedale had a 3.46 grade point average.
Ten schools ? five high schools and five colleges made the list in Texas. In addition to Kennedale, awards were given to Bowie High, McKinney North High, New Summerfield High and Stephen F Austin High. College honors went to East Texas U, Schreiner U, Southwestern U, Mary Hardin-Baylor U and El Paso Community College.
With this honor, Kennedale will always be known as one of the first high schools in America to earn this achievement.
In his post announcing the award, Coach Trantham told his team, ?Great job men, once again you make us proud. As we all know ?It?s great to day to be a Wildcat.?
