Youth Association team plays in “Super Bowl” this week

KYA football plays at Cowboy Stadium Friday night

Last Saturday the Kennedale Youth Association Majors won the National Championship Division in the Brazos Valley Football Association playoffs by defeating the Cleburne #2 Majors 20-14 in Whitney. {{more}}

The win puts the KYA Majors (7-0) in the “Super Bowl” this Friday, November 21 at 9 p.m. The Kennedale team will be up against the American Division Champions, Midlothian #1. Midlothian (7-1) defeated Burleson #1 14-0 Saturday. The majors are made up of 5th and 6th graders.

The title game is being played at AT&T Dallas Cowboy Stadium.

Tickets maybe purchased at KYA pratice today and tomorrow for $20.00 per person as long as supply last or at the gate on Friday for $25 each. KYA practices are held at the Ball Park in Kennedale this week from 6:30 p.m. to approximately 8:30 p.m. Monday and Tuesday.
 
Tickets are good for all three games (Bantam, Minors and Majors) and include a self-guided tour of the Stadium. Gates open at 5:00 pm. KYA Coaches and sponsors are asking the community to come join the fun and support the team and the KYA Cheerleaders who will be there cheering for the team.

The Kennedale Bantam team (7-1) finished first in the regular season in the National Division with an undefeated record. Saturday, they lost in the National Division Championship game in a close one 8-6 to Whitney (7-1).

The Kennedale Minors (6-3) ended their regular season in 3rd place. The K-Minors won their first playoff game 52-16 over Whitney before falling to Midlothian #4 14-6.

The Kennedale youth teams have won the Super Bowl before. The Majors won in 2010. The Minors won in 2009 and 2010. The Bantam team took the title in 2008.
