Lawrence “Zac” Knox gained his angel wings on November 9, 2020 at the age of 49.

Zac was born in Fort Worth, Texas on April 6, 1971 to Marsha Knox and Lawrence Richardson, who precedes him in death.  As a child, Zac excelled in sports, specifically baseball.  His love for athletics continued through his adult years with him taking on various roles and responsibilities with the Kennedale Youth Association.

Zac coached baseball, football, and basketball for many years, and for the past decade, umpired and refereed for youth and adult leagues throughout the metroplex. The size of his heart matched his physical stature.  Zac was gentle and kind and loved everyone. His smile was infectious and his personality gigantic.

Prior to early retirement due to medical disability, Zac worked at Milwood Hospital in the dietary department as a chef for 20 years. His love for the culinary arts was apparent in his menu planning for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays and family gatherings.  Despite the many setbacks in connection with his health, Zac was a fighter.  He beat all odds and continued to persevere through daily pain.

Zac is survived by his mother (Marsha); sisters (Brandi and Tamekia)  twin brothers (Bryan and Brandon); children (Zachary and Anntwamiu “Nene”), nieces and nephews (Jaylan, Trinity, Bayleigh, and Braydon); aunts (Deborah and Gloria) as well as several cousins.  He is preceded in death by his father (Lawrence); grandfather (Robert); aunts (Bertha and Sharon); and uncle (Butch).

Family, friends, and others whose lives Zac touched are invited to his viewing on Monday, November 16, 2020 from 1:30pm to 6:30pm at Golden Gate Funeral Home located at 5701 East Loop 820 Loop South, Fort Worth, Texas 76119 as well as his graveside service on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at 12pm at Emerald Hills Memorial Park located at 500 Kennedale Sublett Rd., Kennedale, Texas 76060.

Zac will forever remain in our hearts. He meant the world to his family, friends, and the Kennedale community.  May he rest in peace until we meet again.
