Hello KISD,

We are nearing the end of the first 9 weeks of school and we need to remind you that report cards will not be sent out as grades will be made available through the Parent Portal. We have asked that you register your student through this system so you may access your student’s grades which will be posted next Friday. If you have not already signed up through this system, please do so in order to be able to access your student’s report card as the grading cycle ends this Friday.

Our volleyball, football, and cross-country teams are having great seasons and we encourage everyone to find ways to continue to support them as they finish strong. Our Junior High athletes’ seasons are well under way and this week is a very busy week for both the Junior High and the High School. As a reminder, we are now requiring mask at all KISD venues so please be aware of this change.

Students, parents, and guardians who will be attending school in person for the first time starting with the second 9 weeks should review the safety protocols and procedures lined out in our video we created for this purpose available on our website. You will also need to review the information outlined by your student’s campus as they will have specific information you will need for your student’s first day at school. Please address personal hygiene, etiquette, and proper hand washing routines with your student prior to them coming to school. They may want to have their own hand sanitizer they carry with them, especially if they have allergies to common hand sanitizer.

We will continue remind our stakeholders of the expectations and protocols that are in place to ensure that we are able to continue in person learning. We need for you to continue with the symptom assessments and temperature checks daily to ensure that your student is feeling well enough to attend school. If they or anyone in the household is feeling ill or showing symptoms of COVID-19, do not send them to school that day and please notify your campus. Our campuses will remain more restricted and all visitors will need to continue setting appointments ahead of time in order to conduct school related business. We need your continued help and support to ensure that our campuses remain open for our students.

Thank you all for your cooperation,

It’s a great day to be a Wildcat!

Superintendent Gee
