Tarrant County’s COVID number hits 742 new cases, 6 deaths Thursday as October surge continues

Tarrant County reported six coronavirus deaths and 742 new cases on Thursday. To date, Tarrant County has reported a total of 66,110 Covid-19 cases. This including 734 deaths and an estimated 52,544 recoveries.

The City of Kennedale has a reported 159 cases with 115 known recoveries and 3 deaths. The City of Arlington has recorded 11,553 total cases, 9,439 recoveries and 139 deaths. The City of Everman has recorded 287 infection cases with 223 recoveries and 0 deaths.

It’s the seventh time in the past nine days the county has reported 600 or more cases. The county has reported 10,015 cases and 40 deaths in the past 16 days. The county has averaged 619 new cases a day the past two weeks.

The recent deaths included five women and one man ranging in ages from the 40’s to 90’s. All had underlying health conditions.

Historical reference shows that on May 11, 2020, the Kennedale News reported that the City of Kennedale had reported its first death and on that date had 9 known cases. Tarrant County had 3,695 cases as of the date with 780 recoveries and Texas was reporting 38,869 cases with 21,022 recoveries.

  • Then, 73% of those infected were aged 25 to 64. Now, 64% are aged 25-64.
  • Then, 58% of those infected were males as opposed to females. Now, 54% of those infected are females as opposed to males.
  • Then, 65% of the deaths were aged 65 and above. Now, 71% are aged 65 and up.
  • Then, 60% of all deaths were males. Now, 56% of all deaths are males.
  • Then, 1% of cases were under aged 15. Now, 7% of cases are 15 under.

KISD Covid-19 Dashboard is reporting 4 active cases out of 2,880 students enrolled and 3 staff active cases out of 412 total staff.

The State of Texas is reporting that there are currently 15,986 active student cases out of 2,136,847 students enrolled. Active staff cases are 10,141 out of 800,078 employed.
