With one game left in first-round district action, the Wildcats have staked a solid claim to 2nd place in District 10/4A with a win Tuesday over Arlington Summit International Leadership Academy, 71-46. The win also gave the Cats another 20-win season with seven games left to play before the playoff begin.

Eighteen 20+ win seasons …

Kennedale is currently 20-5, 3-1. Kennedale has recorded only 2 losing seasons in the last 26 years. Eighteen out of the 26 years were 20+ win seasons.

In the game with Summit International, Kennedale won each quarter, leading 33-18 in the first half and winning the second half of play 38-28 to give the Wildcats the 25-point win.

Scoring for the Cats were Jordan Miller (SR) 19 points, Christion Whitaker (SR) 12, Breylen Harris (JR) 12, Rishaun Gipson (SR) 8, Tyler Choice (JR) 6, Hunter Limbaugh (SR) 5, Austin Pickett (JR) 3, Tristan Lewis (SO) 2, Jonathan Venegas (SR) 2 and Dallas Dryden (SR) 2.

In the game, J. Miller also had 15 rebounds, 4 assists, and a steal while C. Whitaker swooped up 9 rebounds, 3 deflections, 1 steal, and added 2 assists. R. Gipson also contributed to the win with 7 rebounds and 2 assists.

Kennedale returns home to play Williams Prep of Dallas on Friday. Game time is set for 7:30, January 21, 2022. Next week, with the start of round 2 in district play, the Wildcats will travel to challenge Faith Family.

In district play, the Cats are now 3-1, behind Dallas Faith Family Academy who is undefeated in district play at 4-0. Faith Family currently holds the top spot in the state in Class 4A TABC rankings at 21-4. The game will be on Tuesday, January 25, at 8 pm.
