I greet everyone with a heart of gratitude to God for another opportunity to give thanks for who He is and for the things He has done in my life, my family and in His church. In addition, I am grateful and thankful for each one of you. I am thankful for Kennedale News for the opportunity this platform gives to reach everyone. I am thankful and grateful to God for this great nation (USA); government leaders at all levels, military personnel, and private citizens because thanksgiving is the act of giving thanks to God for the many blessings and mercies we have received over the years. For all these and many more reasons – I am grateful and thankful!

We have various reasons to be thankful for, and I encourage us to reflect and seize the opportunity to thank God for all you can remember. These things reflect in our attitudes and makes a Happy Thanksgiving. Let us review some of these things from a text a friend shared with me, and hope they inspire you to make a list that you can share with others.

What makes a happy thanksgiving is not limited to these but includes…

1. Seeing relationships healed and restored.

2. Chains of bondage broken and captives set free.

3. Healing of the sick

4. Strengthening the bond of love that binds us together in Christ.

5. Pulling down the walls of separation

6. Acknowledgement and appreciation for one another.

7. Sharing the love of Christ

8. Being real, open and transparent to one another. Don’t be a Judas at the feast.

9. Daily Gratitude to God for who He is, and all He’s done, and will continue to do.

10. Daily gratitude for self, Friends and family members.

So, how are we to be thankful? The psalmist shows us how in this psalm of thanksgiving below.

Psalms 100:1-5 (NKJV)
1 Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands! 2 Serve the LORD with gladness; Come before His presence with singing.
3 Know that the LORD, He [is] God; [It is] He [who] has made us, and not we ourselves; [We are ] His people and the sheep of His pasture. 4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, [And] into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, [and] bless His name. 5 For the LORD [is] good; His mercy [is] everlasting, And His truth [endures] to all generations.

In this psalm are about six or seven instructions of how we can thank God. Take note of them and do them daily. The more you thank God, the more you notice things to be grateful for. As you gather to dine with friends and family, remember who should be at the center of your thanksgiving.

God bless you and Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
