You may not know it but Kennedale High School features two top 10 teams in 3A basketball. Kennedale does have a reputation for strong, competitive basketball in both boys? and girls? basketball and this year is no exception.
 
The KHS Ladycats started the year as #1 and are currently ranked #2 with a record of 12-2. The Wildcats started the year at #10 and are ranked #8 with a record of 11-1. Both the girls and boys teams have played a tough early season schedule against strong 3A, 4A and 5A teams and have walked away with victories.
 
The Kennedale Ladycats have played the season with several injuries. Last week in a tournament in Granbury, the Kats played with only 6 players on Friday night and 7 players on Saturday.
 
The Ladycats have this week off to get healthy before finishing the semester at Krum on Tuesday, Dec. 18 and at Stephenville on Friday, Dec 21.
 
The biggest challenge of the season thus far comes over the holiday when they play in the Sandra Meadows Classic in Duncanville, December 27-29. Coach Vance Hughes? team will be playing up against some of the top 4A and 5A team in and out of state and in a field that includes a team from Australia.
 
The Ladycats will start district play January 4th at home against Springtown.
